Why it matters

One of the strongest reasons to visit Menton outside summer.

The Lemon Festival is Menton's signature winter event: giant sculptures made from lemons and oranges in the Jardins Bioves, daytime and evening carnival parades, craft stands and themed animations around town.

The atmosphere is very family-friendly, with music, street performers, light installations and a feeling of winter sunshine on the coast. Recent editions have run for about two weeks from mid-February to early March; future dates should always be checked on the official festival site.

How to plan your stay

Practical notes

Official dates pending

Where it happens

  • Citrus sculpture exhibition: Jardins Bioves, Avenue Boyer, 06500 Menton.
  • Parades: Promenade du Soleil and nearby seafront streets.
  • Tourist information and ticket desk: Palais de l'Europe, 8 Avenue Boyer, 06500 Menton.

With children

One of the best family events in the whole calendar. For younger children, daytime parades and morning visits to the gardens are usually the easiest because crowds are lighter.

Official links, tickets and prices

Tickets are usually sold online through the festival website and at the Menton tourist office.

Recent published prices give a rough order of magnitude: promenade parade access from about EUR16 for adults and EUR8 for children aged 6-12; grandstand seats are higher. Always check current official prices before booking.

Practical tips

  • Book accommodation and key parade tickets several months ahead where possible.
  • On parade days, streets are partly closed. If travelling by car, ask in advance about parking and access routes.
  • For sensitive children, consider ear protection and bring snacks; cafe queues grow quickly on busy weekends.
