Choose your day by the weather
On a clear day, combine the old town, the seafront and lunch outside when conditions allow. For rain or a cooler afternoon, choose a museum, cinema or café. Keep opening hours and the return journey flexible: winter weather and daylight can change your plans.
Sea and snow: plan a mountain day
Menton can be a coastal base for a separate mountain excursion. Turini Camp d'Argent and Castérino offer different family-oriented snow activities; the mountain guide also covers larger ski areas. Snow, lifts, roads and equipment hire are not guaranteed: check the operator and road conditions immediately before leaving, and allow for a long return journey.
Winter with children
Keep the day manageable: a short seafront walk and a warm lunch can be paired with a museum or indoor activity. Our family guide includes rainy-day alternatives and longer trips to Monaco and Nice; check age suitability, holiday closures and transport for your date.
Warm cafés, tea rooms and spa time
A coffee, tea or hot chocolate is an easy pause between walks. For a longer indoor break, compare the existing tea-room, coffee and spa guides; check menus, opening hours, booking and access conditions directly with each venue. Warm drinks and spa access are not assumed to be available at every address.
Festive drinks and seasonal events
Vin chaud and other festive drinks may appear at winter markets, but stalls, menus and dates change each year. Menton's earlier Christmas programme listed mulled wine and hot chocolate at the Biovès food stands; this does not confirm what will be offered this season. Consult the current programme before making a special trip.
Citrus season and the Lemon Festival
Winter is a good time to explore local citrus and look for producer visits by appointment. In February, the Lemon Festival brings exhibitions and parades; use the dedicated guide and official programme for the current edition, ticketing and access, rather than assuming every activity runs every day.
