Azur Menton

Practical information

Where to stay in Menton: beachfront, old town or near the station?

Menton is walkable, but your area shapes the trip: Victoria Beach for sea routines, old town for atmosphere, station area for trains and Garavan for quieter views.

Choose by the rhythm of your stay

Menton is small enough that you can walk almost everywhere, but where you stay still shapes your trip: beachfront for easy swims and sea routines, the old town for atmosphere, the station area for quick trains, and Garavan for quieter scenic evenings.

Azur Menton apartments are arranged around this idea: two beachfront homes in the central Victoria Beach area and one first-line sea apartment in Garavan. They are not one single address; each gives a different Menton mood.

Central beachfront: Victoria Beach area

If your ideal Menton day starts and ends with the sea, staying near the central beaches is the most practical option. From here you are close to Plage du Fossan, Promenade du Soleil and the shops, cafes and restaurants of the town centre.

Azur Menton's two Victoria Beach apartments sit in this central beachfront zone, directly across from the sea. The sea-view studios are made for balcony breakfasts, Mediterranean views and quick swims across the promenade.

The terrace apartment adds more space and private outdoor dining, plus on-site parking, which is rare this close to the beach and useful if you arrive by car.

  • Best for daily swims, couples, families and car-free stays.
  • Works well if you want cafes, ice cream, the promenade and the town centre close by.

Old town and market streets

The streets below the old town and around Halles du Marché are good if you care more about atmosphere and food than being directly opposite the beach. You step into narrow lanes, cafes, bakeries and lemon shops, with Les Rampes Saint-Michel and the basilica just above.

This area works well if you like to start the day at the market, decide the plan over coffee, and walk up into the old town in the evening before returning towards the port.

Azur Menton focuses more on central beachfront than inside the old town itself, but from the Victoria Beach apartments you can still walk to the market and basilica area in about 10-15 minutes.

Station area and upper town

Around Menton station and the upper parts of town, accommodation tends to be more functional. You lose the immediate seafront, but you gain quick access to TER trains towards Nice, Monaco and Italy.

This area makes sense if you plan to be on trains most days and want to minimise walking with luggage. It is less ideal if your daily routine is built around quick swims and balcony breakfasts over the water.

From Azur Menton's central beachfront apartments, you can still reach the station on foot, but your daily priority becomes sea first rather than station first.

Garavan: quiet first line with views

Garavan lies east of central Menton, close to the Italian border, with its own seafront, marina and a more residential, scenic feel. The beaches are quieter, Port de Garavan has long lines of boats, and the views back towards the old town and bay are some of Menton's nicest.

Azur Menton's Garavan apartment is on the first line here, facing the sea. It suits guests who want a calmer end-of-the-bay atmosphere, easy marina walks and access towards the Italian border.

From Garavan, you can walk along the seafront to Sablettes and the old town, take a bus when useful, or simply stay in the area and enjoy a more local rhythm.

How to choose your area

If you picture coffee on a balcony with immediate sea views and crossing the promenade for a quick swim, choose Victoria Beach in central Menton. If you prefer quieter views and a marina atmosphere while staying on the first line, Garavan is a better match.

If most of your time will be spent exploring Monaco, Nice and Italy by train, central beachfront still works well because you are between the station and the beaches and can walk to both.

All Azur Menton apartments keep the same idea in mind: straightforward walking access to the sea, old town and transport, with enough comfort to treat Menton as a base rather than just a quick stop.
