Luggage storage in Menton, Monaco and Nice

If you arrive in Menton by train before your apartment is ready, the most practical fallback is the Radical Storage partner by the main station at 2 Avenue Thiers. The current listing shows 08:00-19:00, accepts ordinary bags plus some larger items, and requires online booking rather than a simple walk-in.

A second central option sits at 13 Rue de la République near the market and seafront. Its current tourism listing shows a split schedule - 09:00-13:00 and 15:30-19:00 - so it is useful when your plans fit that gap but less useful for a spontaneous lunchtime drop.

Radical Storage also shows a Jardins Biovès point at 2 Avenue Boyer, but the current booking page is closed for every day shown in the live calendar. Treat it as unavailable unless that listing reopens. For out-of-hours use, Radical also lists a 24-hour locker around Intermarché Hyper Menton, but it is meant only for small and medium luggage rather than large suitcases or odd-size gear.

Monaco is less straightforward than Nice. Do not assume Monaco-Monte-Carlo station has a conventional public locker room waiting inside the station. For a day visit, the practical option is usually a private network partner near the station rather than a classic station locker.

The current Radical Storage option is at 15 Rue Pasteur in Beausoleil, just outside Monaco proper. The live page usually shows about 10:00-19:00, accepts normal luggage plus some larger items, and requires online booking. The calendar can vary by day, so check your actual date before carrying bags there.

Also remember that Monaco and Beausoleil are very hilly. A point that looks close on the map can still mean stairs or a real climb with luggage, so leave margin in your timing.

Nice has the easiest luggage-storage infrastructure of the three cities. For train travellers, the clearest first choice is Bagmobile directly inside Nice-Ville station, in the East Hall near the waiting room. SNCF's station page places it there, lists daily opening hours of 08:15-21:00, and shows the current day rates: €5.50 cabin, €7.50 medium, €9.50 large, and €15 for oversized items such as skis, instruments or bicycles.

If you need later collection, Radical Storage currently lists a partner at 21 Avenue Durante with hours usually around 08:00-23:00, and another at 5 Rue de Belgique around 09:00-22:00. Both require online booking and work better as late-closing backups than as replacements for the staffed station option.

Away from the station, Bagmobile also runs automatic lockers at 8 Rue Baralis with current access around 06:00-23:00, and CITY-LOCKER at 16 bis Rue Cassini currently lists 08:00-22:00 for Old Nice, Garibaldi and Port Lympia plans.

If you are already heading to the airport, the official airport luggage-storage service can be the least complicated final-step option even though it costs more than most city storage. Nice Airport says the service is available in the Service Centers at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, before security.

The current official page lists opening hours of 08:00-21:00 every day, €19 per bag for up to 24 hours, and €21 for oversized luggage such as bicycles, golf equipment and skis. You need a valid ID and phone number, and the airport says it will not accept perishables, valuables, hazardous items, animals or plants.

Services such as Radical Storage, Nannybag and Bounce do not work like old station lockers. They usually partner with cafés, hotels, shops or other local businesses and expect the booking to happen online first.

That model can be useful because it creates more locations, later collection windows and better odds for larger bags than fixed-size lockers. But it also means you should not arrive assuming a walk-in space will still be available.

Nannybag's current public pricing explains its bag categories as small, regular and odd-size. That can be useful if you travel with something that does not fit the usual suitcase pattern.

If you arrive in Menton before your apartment is ready, ask the host first. Hotels and holiday rentals can often hold luggage before check-in even when the room itself is not yet available.

The same logic applies on departure day. If you check out in the morning but leave by train or plane much later, ask the accommodation provider first whether the bags can stay for a few hours.

If not, use the city that already matches the rest of your day: station-area storage in Menton, a pre-booked private partner for Monaco, Bagmobile inside Nice-Ville for rail departures, or the official airport service if you are already heading to Nice Airport.

Do not assume every storage service is a physical locker. Staffed services and private partners can often accept cabin cases, larger checked suitcases, backpacks, shopping bags, pushchairs and some sports equipment.

Automated lockers are more restrictive. The current 24-hour Radical option near Intermarché Hyper Menton is specifically limited to small and medium luggage, and airport or city lockers can have their own size rules as well.

Do not wait until the last possible moment. If one option is unavailable, look for another partner nearby, ask the hotel or apartment host, or shift to another district in Nice instead of insisting on one exact point.

Most importantly, check the collection time, not only the drop-off time. A place that happily takes your bag at 10:00 is useless if it closes before you can retrieve it.
