Start above the seafront
If you want something more than a simple walk, start in the old town and climb Les Rampes Saint-Michel slowly. Pause on the landings to look back over the bay, the tiled roofs and the Basilica before continuing up towards the Cimetière du Vieux Château.
The cemetery viewpoint is one of the clearest sunset spots in Menton, with the sea, the old town and the Italian coast in the same frame. Wear comfortable shoes: this part of the route includes stairs and elevation.

Vieux Port aperitif
Walk back down towards the waterfront and the Vieux Port by Plage des Sablettes. The terraces here are a good place for an early evening drink with the old town in front of you.
For a local wine moment, choose a relaxed wine bar or port-side terrace, order a glass of Provence rosé if available, and watch the light change on the coloured façades. Check current opening hours before choosing a specific address.

Promenade and rooftop option
Later, continue along the Promenade du Soleil. If you prefer a more festive drink and a higher viewpoint, a rooftop-style bar such as Rooftop du Med can work well when open: arrive early in high season, as view tables tend to fill quickly.

Finish quietly near Garavan
For a softer end to the night, keep walking towards Port de Garavan, the eastern marina. The mood becomes calmer and more residential, with boats, low light and a different angle on Menton's bay.
If you sit down for dessert, a digestif or a late coffee, choose a terrace that is open on the day rather than planning around one fixed restaurant. From this side of town, the lights of Menton feel quieter before you walk back to your apartment.
