Evening drinks and nightlife in Menton

Menton nightlife is low-key and seaside-focused: think aperitif, dinner, a walk and one or two well-chosen spots rather than a long bar crawl.

Even in summer, a typical night is more likely to be a terrace drink, Promenade du Soleil, a rooftop or a small music evening than clubbing until dawn. Seasonal DJ sets, live music and one-off events happen, but they change often, so check posters, hotel boards or social media once you arrive.

For a quieter aperitif, Bar L'Escalier can work as a lower-key stop with simple drinks and a more local feel. Actual dancing or karaoke is more limited in Menton: some bars and restaurants organise themed nights, but programmes change often, so check recent listings or ask locally.

If you want a later, more energetic night, Monaco is the easiest upgrade from Menton. Regional transport links the two, and taxis or ride-hailing can fill gaps late at night, but always check return options before you go.

A famous harbour address is La Rascasse, known around the Monaco Grand Prix corner and for a mix of terrace drinks, live music, DJs or themed nights depending on the programme. Monaco has more cocktail bars and clubs near the port and Casino area, with higher prices and sometimes smarter dress expectations.

Nice has the broadest nightlife nearby, from wine bars and pubs in Vieux Nice to hotel bars and beach clubs along Promenade des Anglais. It is the better choice if you want more variety, louder music or a bigger-city evening.

Going out in Nice from Menton can work the same night if you plan the return carefully. Check last trains and late transport before you start the evening, and keep a taxi or ride-share option in mind as backup.

Treat Menton as a base for relaxed evenings, with the option of dialling up the nightlife in Monaco or Nice once in a while. In Menton itself, evenings tend to start earlier and wind down earlier than in large cities, so 19:00-20:00 is usually a better starting rhythm than waiting until very late.
